Your Season Is Coming!

December 17, 2020

When we look into nature, different living things take different times to reach to what we consider their full potential.

For example: Look at plants, some take years to grow and live for many years. Some grow, proliferate and die quickly.

The Bible compares the life of humans to the life of grass.

Psalm 103: 15-16 “The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.”

Then there are trees like oak and pine that send their roots deep into the ground and live for many years, weathering the seasons that nature sends their way. These trees are adaptable. They are not always a luscious green, but when their beauty cannot be seen, life is teeming underground, and work is taking place where it matters, at the roots!

The pine tree is flexible, adapting to extreme climatic circumstances. The pine tree holds unto its leaves throughout the cold or dormant season and survives even extreme heat and drought.

The oak survives tornadoes and hurricanes. After being battered and stripped of their leaves, oak trees survive because of their strength, their curvy branches, and not to mention their incredible root systems.

An elephants gestation period is all of 22 months, the longest for any mammal!

Things take time! That is why we should never compare our lives to the life of anyone we see. Life is made up of cycles!

The person you might be comparing yourself to has weathered many storms, and it is their time to blossom. It does not mean you won’t nor does it mean mean they will not reach a stage in their lives where they will need to grow again and change.

Growth and change looks different in every life. You might be at a stage in your life where God is calling you to focus on your roots. God, in love, is cutting away the things that will prevent us from blooming. The things that will prevent us from providing shelter to those who will nest and take refuge under the leaves, shadow and in the stabilized soil of your lives. Like day turns into night and night into day, change is inevitable.

If we must look at the lives of others, let us look to learn from the positives with the understanding that life is a cycle, and we are called to be our brothers’ keepers.

My grandma told me growing up “No man is an island.” (Meaning you will never get to a place in life where you are self-sufficient.)

As I write I am thinking about the people who are hurting and alone because people look on their lives as ideal (not understanding what they’re really enduring) and will never lift a finger to help, much less raise a hand!

Think about celebrities who might be considered as living the dream here on earth and yet they self-harm. Why? Material things add to this life but cannot fill the gap in a man’s heart. The more we accomplish, the more we will feel the need to accomplish more. Accomplishments with balance I am all for!

Unlike plants and animals, we will never reach our full potential here on earth because our Heavenly Father is after eternity with us. We will set goals to accomplish them, which is excellent. We are living and occupying but nothing we accomplish here will satisfy us.

God, in all His wisdom, chose to create the hearts of men with a constant desire for eternity. He did not create any of us to reach a stage in life in which we could become self-sufficient. Then there would be no need for Him.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.”

Keep consistent at your craft! Work at what God called you for. It will not always be smooth sailing because growing is painful.

But no matter what, you just never give up!

Admire those ahead and observe what they are doing. Observe the attitudes that got them where they are. Hold on to who you are, and focus on your calling and strategize. Hold on to who you are! You Are what the world needs!

For those who are just starting out in pursuit of their God-given gift, lend a hand or a word of encouragement! Help them as they crawl to believe they can walk, and eventually run!

Humanity can only reach its full potential in Christ in eternity. Until this is realized, hone your God-given gifts and work at them through all the seasons of life! When it is beautiful and when it requires work. When a tree is pruned, it is only to improve and sustain health.

Why be a copy when God created you to be an original?

We all have different life experiences, and people are waiting to hear our testimonies. Look at it this way, no one person can reach the 7.5 billion people that live in the world. There are souls for all of us to reach through the leading of the Holy Spirit!

Today, please remember:

  1. Never compare yourself to anyone. Life is a cycle.
  2. Find balance and focus on the roots. They determine your harvest.
  3. Observe to become better, not bitter.
  4. Reach out to people that seem they have it all together.
  5. Focus and consistency is key!

How are you trying to become a better you today?

Praise God!!! 🙌🏽 This is beautiful 🤩… I was discussing this matter with Holy Spirit this morning—Comparison. Comparison is deadly!!!

Amen! It sure is. Comparison prevents so many from reaching anywhere. They look around and give up on themselves. God has a great plan for us all. We were all created with a great purpose in the creator’s mind. Thank you so much for sharing and God bless you.🤗😊
