There are times in life when we will hurt.
To a point where we might feel alone, helpless, or stuck.
We might feel like we cannot go on.
But the Holy Spirit is saying to us today.
“Wilt thou be made whole?”
“Take up your bed and walk.”
John 5:2-9
Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Friend, take up your bed and walk because your situation or experience is not your future. The word of God is.
Do not allow unforgiveness to hold you to a place of stagnation. Take up your bed and walk.
Pain and hurt are not your portion. Take up your bed and walk.
Bitterness is not your portion; take up your bed and walk.
Guilt and condemnation are not your portion. Take up your bed and walk.
Your mistakes are not your portion; take up your bed and walk.
Who people think you are is not your portion; what the Word says is your portion. Take up your bed and walk.
What you think about you is not your portion; take up your bed and walk.
Friend, will you be made whole? Let us walk away from the things in life that were orchestrated by the realm of darkness to cripple us.
Am I asking you to do something easy?
No, I am not because I know the pain you feel is real. But today, Friend, if you want to be made whole, make a choice to get up!
Start with baby steps if you must. The Lord will hold your hand and walk you to a place He had prepared for you before you were knitted together in your mother’s womb!
“Take up your bed and walk!” The Lord Himself has given the command!
I hope these words of encouragement are helpful for you or someone you know.
You know I love hearing from you. Feel free to send me a message at any time.
Thinking out loud Because life is better shared!
