A Fresh Start Isn’t a New Place, It’s a New Mindset

January 25, 2021

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend.

This morning I just want to encourage you all to start where you are. Let us start by changing the patterns in our minds that we took years to develop and bring about results that take us nowhere.

Many times we believe, “Oh if only I could find myself in a new place, I would be able to accomplish more.”

For people who are disciplined and willing to put in the necessary work, this is true.

Look into nature, and you will see that things take time β€” a seed must go into the ground and be broken down before it can reach its full potential!

But, remember the day is coming when it will defy the odds and send out roots! You see, The seed contains an embryo β€” a group of cells ready to form roots, a stem and the first leaves. Once the coat around the seed is moistened, the embryo cells expand and burst out in a process called germination.

It is the same with us. We need to trust that when we do what is hard, we too will send out roots and will be able to withstand whatever life sends our way! God has placed in us, like a tiny seed, everything we need to grow and develop into who He has called us to be! Trust the process!

As we grow and change, we learn to navigate the difficult places, which is something we all must learn to do. We can’t decide to wait for a change in where we are in order to grow!

Let us learn to not despise the day of small beginnings.

Zechariah 4:10

“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the LORD that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?”

Let us learn to change the way we think regardless of where we are! Let us work on developing character traits that will cause us to be functional wherever we are or when presented with the right opportunities! Let us learn to be disciplined, make sacrifices, set goals, take steps in the right direction no matter how small they are and in all things persevere where the Holy Spirit leads. God wants us to start.

The change we seek might not necessarily be in a new place but a new way of looking at where we are! What we do where we are, will catapult us to where we need to be! Our Heavenly Father knows what we need and when we need it!

Remember all things work together for our good as children of The Most High God!

Wherever you are today, look into yourself and identify the mindsets that are causing you not to start what God has called you to.

Start today! God has placed inside of you everything you need to be who He ordained for you to be and when the weapons form they will not prosper!

Have a great day! Better yet a great week!

Love this, Kim! I think we are naturally very impatient, but if we let those seeds grow and let God lead us, beautiful things will happen. Good things take time. Thank you for writing this!

This is a great read. It’s so hard to get started when you fear it won’t flourish as fast as you see it in your mind. And then all of a sudden, all this time has gone by and you’ve done nothing

“The change we seek might not necessarily be in a new place but a new way of looking at where we are! ” << that part!!

Cherrise I am so grateful that this post was a blessing to you. How we look at where we are is everything because what we see influences our next step. Thank you for always encouraging me.

Loved reading this so much. I also love the example that you used about the seed and it’s process. Growth is a continual process and we must learn to trust the process.
