Dear Friends,
Many times, the environments we find ourselves in feel like we are somehow moving in the wrong direction and the presence of God cannot be seen or traced. All around, we feel as though we are engulfed in darkness, but I need you to know that pictures are developed in darkrooms to prevent unwanted exposure.
In the darkroom, there is a controlled environment to protect the images being developed from stray light.
Friend, if you feel like you are walking in the will of God, trusting Him in all things, yet it feels like day will not dawn, the break you desire seems to be nowhere in sight, I encourage you today by reassuring you that God has the entire picture of your life! He knows what you are created to be and how long your season in the darkroom must be for you to become who He created you to be.
Our limited minds cannot comprehend how God chooses to work things out for our good. We are called to trust a God who is faithful even when we are faithless. We are called to trust a God who, most times, based on our ideas of how things should be, we cannot trace His hands but must trust His heart.
God will not allow what He has packed in us to be ruined by unwanted exposure. God knows the amount of time we need in the darkroom so that when we get out, we understand who we are and whose we are and will walk no other path than the one labelled ‘Divine Purpose.’
When we are in the darkroom of our lives, let us not forget that God knows what we are to be and has control over the developmental process and timing needed for us to become who He created us to be.
Psalm 139:13-14 “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Your final destination is not your processing in the darkroom. God established your purpose in divine counsels, and He places His words above His name, so the gates of hell will not be allowed to prosper. Continue to trust God, and you will walk in your God given purpose.
The darkroom is for the development of your character.
The darkroom is to build trust in God and God alone.
The darkroom is to teach us to pray.
The darkroom is to teach us to worship through all things.
The darkroom is where we learn that all things are possible with God.
The darkroom is where we understand that the weapons formed against us will not be allowed to prosper.
The darkroom is where our eyes are opened to see that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
In the darkroom, we learn to call on God, who delivers and honours us.
In the darkroom, we learn that miracles are indeed possible and that the Holy Spirit will do greater things through us, according to John 14:12-14.
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
In the dark room is where the Holy Spirit reveals the deep things of God.
In the darkroom, we learn to call on God to show us great and mighty things we know not.
We are uncomfortable in the darkrooms of our lives because we are out of our comfort zones. We might even feel afraid. We might cry. We might feel emotions we do not wish to share, but that is ok. Our Heavenly Father is not offended by our humanness. Our humanness cannot change the will of God for our lives. His words will accomplish in our lives what He has sent them to.
Isaiah 53:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
A Prayer For Us
Friend, today I pray that as our Heavenly Father is processing us in the darkrooms of our lives, we will receive divine resuscitation. I pray that as we question the process and the duration in the darkrooms of our lives, our faith will not fail us. Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You. You will not allow us to fail. Lord, help us hold on to Your promises, our outcome and not what we see around us or how we feel. Your words that have been spoken over us will not return void. They will accomplish Your will in our lives and prosper us.
Lord, today I pray that we will mount up with wings like eagles. Father, help us to run and not grow weary, help us to walk and not faint. Lord, quiet our hearts as we wait on Your appointed time. Lord, today we choose to continue to trust You as You work out all the details of our lives. You have a specific purpose for each of us, and we wait on you, Father.
Amen
I hope these words of encouragement are helpful for you or someone you know.
You know I love hearing from you. Feel free to send me a message at any time!
Thinking out Loud because Life is better shared!
