Dear Friend,
Despite where we are and what we are facing, we are not orphans! We have a loving Father who has planned and orchestrated all the details of our lives from this realm into eternity. It seems we are alone when going through a season in which our Father is silent, but remember, complete control belongs to Jesus, and there is no time or season He is unaware of.
Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
I love being out in nature; nature reminds me of God’s original plan for humanity and gives me a glimpse into my Father’s loving, caring heart.
We went for a walk recently and saw this unfinished bird’s nest resting on a low limb of an Avocado tree.
As I observed, I could see it was intricately made of sticks, dried leaves and rabbit hair from an old cage nearby.
My girls were excited because they had learned about birds in books but had never seen a bird’s nest out in nature.
As they looked up, they made the most of the bird’s humble abode and asked a lineup of questions. Questions that made me think deeply about my Heavenly Father.
When I looked at the bird’s nest and answered their simple yet thought-provoking questions, I was in awe of our Heavenly Father and His love for us and how He always provides for our needs according to His unmatched omniscient wisdom.
Friend God created the birds of the air. He also provides for them everything they need to survive. He designed them with the ability to plan in advance to prepare a place for their young.
He created the trees that grow year after year to provide food and a place for them to rest.
Friend, as I ponder on our Father’s spoken words from the beginning and how they are still doing what they were sent to do, I am learning to trust God more.
I am learning to trust that He is my loving Father and that I am not left like an orphan. You are not an orphan.
This bird nest reminds me that there is a plan for my life and your life.
We are not here by chance. We have Divine purposes on our lives, and the gates of hell will not be able to prevail.
Friend, have faith, walk in boldness, and believe your Father’s spoken words over you!
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
As parents, we look out for the best interests of our children. We plan in advance for their future and put plans in place to cushion their journey through life. We prepare for their birth, and after they are born, we continue to plan for them until they are at a stage where they can stand up on their own.
Even when our children learn to stand, they will still need our wisdom, knowledge and understanding to navigate some seasons of their adult lives!
Matthew 7:11 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
Friend, if birds have the capacity to plan and prepare for their young and if, as humans, we plan and prepare for our young, then let us hold firm to the fact that our Heavenly Father is preparing a place for us in this life and the one to come.
The enemy, the father of lies, will come in when we feel most alone, like God has forgotten us to do what he is: lie. He will tell us that Our Father has forgotten us, we have done something wrong, and that the details of our lives are too minor for a sovereign, all-knowing, all-powerful God to be bothered with them. But that is not the Father I know.
That’s not the Father the Living Word describes.
Our Father is loving, caring and kind.
So loving that even when we were sinners, He sent His beloved son to die for us.
Friend, when Satan comes in to lie to us and when we have messed up, remember that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Think about how we are with our children. Do we forsake them when they mess up? We do not. Our Father has put everything in place to love us.
Friend, we can trust our Father with all the details and seasons of our lives because He loves us.
Our Father is always preparing a place for us!
Everything will make sense to us in the future. Our Father’s ultimate plan for us is eternity with Him, and all things will work out for our Good.
We are not allowed to endure a season of which He is unaware. The storms of life reveal to us that our Father is walking on the waters of life long before we encounter difficulties. He is not caught off guard.
His hand is a hand we must hold from this life into eternity!
We can trust Him with all the seasons of our lives. In fact, He is the only one we can trust, for He alone is stable! He alone is all-knowing! He alone can be touched by the feelings of our infirmities! Our Father’s nature is to love on us.
Friend, while you wait to see the Hand of your Father moving in your life, here are some Bible verses about the love of God for you to meditate on.
Lamentations 3: 22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Isaiah 54:10 “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”
Psalm 86:15 “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you.
Ephesians 3:18-19 “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
Romans 8:37-39 “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
1 John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”
Dear friend, we have not been left as orphans!
John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
Our Heavenly Father has provided for us all that we need for this life into eternity.”
2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him, who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
If our Father prepares food for the birds of the air, indeed as His beloved Children, created in His image, He has a plan for us. He is aware of all the details of our lives, past, present and future.
Matthew 6:26-34 “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Friend, your Father is aware of your situation. He is aware of all the details of our lives, past, present and future. Do not be afraid to ask For anything good that is in line with the will of God your Father for your life.
John 16:74 “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
Luke 12:32 “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
