This picture marks the day the girls came home from the NICU. To me, it seems as if it was yesterday, but now my girls are walking and talking.
As a Christian mother, my deepest desire is for my children to know God — to understand how loving He is and all He did for them even before they were born. I need them to understand that the most important relationship they will have in this life is with God. I believe that if they know God, understand who He is and constantly connect with Him, they will walk in their divine destiny. After all, He created them for a specific purpose.
What are your desires for your children as a Christian mom?
On Monday, I was home alone with the girls. I prepared their breakfast and went to greet them. We followed their self-care morning routine and were heading to the kitchen to have breakfast. One twin ran to her room and presented me with a bottle of Olive Oil, and bowed down in my direction.
You might ask what the oil was for, so let me share.
My husband and I are from Christian homes, and our parents prayed for us regularly, anointing us with oil, so we have been doing the same with our children. Before bed at nights, my husband prays for the children and repeats Numbers 6:24-27.
“The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”
I started praying and pronounced the words above over them both, anointing them with oil, and the second twin responded, “In the name of Jesus, amen!”
My girls are learning to pray, and I consider this fact one of my greatest accomplishments as a Christian mother. Even though I pray for my family numerous times in a day, morning prayer with the girls is now a part of our routine.
Our children are watching our every move. Let us be mindful of what we are giving them to imitate.
I know parenting is not easy, and because we love our children so much, they can awake so many emotions in us.
It is never too late to show them God through our actions, and yes, we are humans and will make mistakes. God is aware of that, and grace is yours for the taking.
Today, let us remember that our lives are books our children are studying. What do you write on your pages daily for them to see? When they are older, what Christian principles will they remember from growing up with us? I can still see and hear my father crying and praying for us. I can still hear him saying, Psalm 37:25.
“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging for bread.”
I know so many Bible verses that I can not tell you where they are found, but they have been planted in my spirit.
What intentional step will you take today in the lives of your children as a Christian parent?
The enemy does not mind if they are cared for in every way and neglected spiritually.
This song is Numbers 6:24-27 and this is my prayer for you and your family today.
Thank you for being here because life is indeed better shared!
Have a great day!

Love love love love loved this!! One day my 8 year old was in his virtual class and the teacher was going through Comprehension with them. So they read a story about some children who made wishes but they did not come through. The teacher directed a question to Kai, my son, asking him why he thinks that this happened. He responded by saying that they didn’t get what they wanted because they made a wish. If they had prayed to God, they would have had a better chance by having their prayers answered. And even then! God is not a genie so they still would have had to ask and wait..and I stood in awe of the fact that he was able to minister to his teacher, his classmates and any other parents that would have been listening in.
This was a very beautiful post and a timely reminder. I thank you for sharing it ❤
